A big welcome to all my new third graders and their parents!
I know that it can be a little scary getting a new teacher so; I wanted to let you know a little bit about myself. I grew up in Waukesha WI. I have known since the first grade that I have wanted to be a teacher. So after high school I headed to Carthage College, in Kenosha, IL where I studied to become a teacher. I loved Wisconsin but my husband was from Illinois so I packed up my bags and moved to Aurora, Illinois. I did my student teaching in district 204. Right after student teaching; I was very excited to get a job in District 308. Then in 2006 I received my Masters in Education from Olivet of Nazarene. I always tell my students that you are never too old to stop learning. I have worked at East View Elementary teaching third grade for the past six years. That brings me to now as is this will be my first year at Wolfs Crossing. I am so excited to be a part of the Wolfs Crossing team! I can’t wait to start my new adventure!
On a personal note I have been married for four years. I have 2 dogs, a fish and a snake. The Navar’s are huge animal lovers. I also have a 6 month old little boy named Malachi, we call him Kye. Life these days is keeping me pretty busy.
I am sure everyone loves summer, but it is that time again and I can’t wait to get started with a new school year! I look forward to bonding with each child in my class. Third grade is a wonderful grade and I am sure it will be a year of growth both academically and socially. I will be working with the parents and kids to help each child reach their full potential. I know if parents, students, school staff and educators work as a team anything is possible. I can’t wait for us to have a great year!
