Mr. Guzzaldo graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of Iowa in 2001.  He joined the Illinois Air National Guard after graduating and served from 2001 until 2007.  While serving in the military, Mr. Guzzaldo pursued teacher certification through Northern Illinois University`s secondary education program for Social Studies and was certified to teach in 2007.

Mr. Guzzaldo is in his second year of teaching at Thompson Junior High School.  He is a member of the National Council for Social Studies and presented on genocide and human rights education at their annual national convention in 2007. 

Mr. Guzzaldo also is a faculty member of and sits on the Advisory Board to the Genocide and Human Rights Institute at Northern Illinois University.
