My name is Jen Kern and I am a third grade teacher at Prairie Point Elementary School.
I grew up in Sandwich, IL as the second youngest of eleven children. I currently reside in Paw Paw, IL with my husband Zachary where our family owns a farm.
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Aurora University in 2004 and completed my Master`s Degree from Benedictine University this past year. I began my career as a student teacher teaching 4th grade at the Freeman Partnership School on the campus of Aurora University. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to teach immediately after graduation by taking over a long term 2nd grade position at Freeman Elementary School in West Aurora School District 129 in 2005.
This is my fifth year in Oswego and I am loving it! Prairie Point is an exciting positive place to be and I feel fortunate to be working with a staff that is constantly
striving to grow and do what is best for kids each day. I am also a student as I am currently pursuing my Master`s degree in Leadership and Administration from Benedictine University and will graduate in May of this year!
I am looking forward to an exciting and adventurous year with your child!
