Profile

I come from a family of teachers, so it was only natural that I should become one as well.  My teaching career began when I attended Illinois State University where I earned my B.S. in Special Education.  After teaching special education at the middle school level for five years, I earned my M.S. in Education at Northern Illinois University and then taught sixth grade language arts, math, and social studies for three years.  I temporarily retired from teaching for several years to raise my three children.  I was very happy to be offered a teaching position at Plank Junior High when it opened in 2006.   I am thrilled to work with the staff, parents, and students in our school community to foster life-long learning as well as provide a positive and successful learning experience.   In addition to the time I have spent in the classroom over the years, I have also served as a student council sponsor, earth team sponsor, and track coach. Outside of my work day, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children.  We enjoy swimming, riding bikes, participating in scouts, and reading together.
