Profile
In 1995, I recieved a volleyball scholarship from Lakeland Community College. After completing my Associates Degree, I transfered to Eastern Illinois University where I studied Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. Upon completing my undergraduate degree I was awarded a Graduate Assistantship at Eastern Illinois University which allowed me to complete my Masters of Science in Cardiac Rehabilitation. I began my career as an Exercise Physiologist for St. John`s Hospital in Springfield, IL. I worked with Phase III Heart patients for three years. In June of 2003, I married my husband Troy and relocated to the Plainfield area. I completed my Personal Training certification and worked as a Personal Trainer for two years. Throughout my career I really enjoyed educating my clients on the best ways to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This experience motivated me to complete my Teacher Certification for Health & PE in 2005. August of 2008 my husband and I welcomed our son, Carson to this world.
In my opinion, learning is the purpose of life, therefore my mission is to provide Plank Jr. High students with the resources necessary to live a healthy lifestyle.
