Profile
My musical experiences began in the 5th grade at Homer Junior High in Homer Glen, IL. I decided I wanted to become a band director on my first day of band in 5th grade, and with the help and encouragement of some amazing teachers I am fortunate enough to come to school each day and make music with a wonderful group of students.
I earned my Bachelor`s degree in Music Performance and Music Education from The University of Iowa in 2004. Go HAWKS! After completing my degree, I taught band at Thompson Junior High for two years. I became a pirate four years ago when the Plank ship set sail. During the summer of 2009, I completed my Master`s of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.
Along with teaching the curricular bands, I teach the Plank Junior High Jazz Band, and a number of private music lessons. I look forward to an excellent school year with all of the fantastic young musicians of Plank Jr. High!
