Profile
My name is Crystal Rutherford, and I have been teaching in Oswego School District since 1999. I began my teaching career in fifth grade at Boulder Hill Elementary School. I then had the wonderful opportunity to help open Fox Chase Elementary School, where I taught fifth grade and third grade for many years. Since I very much enjoyed the experience of opening a school, I decided to do it again here at Plank Junior High School as a Reading Specialist.
I received my undergraduate teaching degree in Elementary Education at Concordia University, and my Master`s Degree in Reading from Lewis University, as well as my Reading Specialist Certificate from Lewis University. I consider myself a lifelong learner which is why I stay current with best practices in education, especially in my three favorite areas: Reading, Writing, and Differentiated Curriculum. I have also completed several professional development sessions/courses. Along with that, I`ve served on various school and curriculum committees.
