Hi, my name is Beth Hammer and I originally grew up in Naperville.  I attended the University of Dayton, in Dayton, Ohio where I met my husband, Joe. I moved back to Oswego shortly after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Education. I have lived in Oswego with my husband, two children, Abby and Jake, and our dog, Molly. We have lived in Oswego for 15 years.  Before joining the Oswego #308 Community School District, I have previously taught in Joliet District #86 for five years in a special education classroom before taking some time off to stay home with my children.  I am now entering my fifth year of teaching at Old Post Elementary.

In May of 2008, I received my Masters Degree in Reading from Aurora University.  I love reading aloud to children.  I love to read myself when I have time between my schooling and driving my children around to their activities.  I have always enjoyed working with children and helping them to learn how to learn.
