Education-
Mr. Skura first received Associates in Science with an emphasis in art at Harper Community College in 1991. During this time he joined the Army National Guard and was stationed in Elgin after six years he was Honorably Discharged as a Sergeant. While in the Army National Guard he earned a Bachelors` in Fine Art Studio/Painting at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1994. Two years later he would earn another Bachelors` in Fine Art Secondary Education. His first job was at an all girls Catholic High School called Josephinum,this is located in Bucktown Chicago. He worked there for three years. He next worked at his Alma Mater, Schaumburg High School. After a year at Schaumburg High School he went on to work at Oswego High School. Within a year at Oswego he began working on his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Illinois at Urbana. After two years he was finished and then was hired as Interim Division Chair for the Fine Arts. During this time he worked on his Type 75 through U of I and received an Advanced Certificate of Study in Education of Leadership program.
Professional-
Mr. Skura is the Advisor for National Art Honor Society and continues to make art work
personally and professionally.
Personal-
Mr. Skura is married and has three children. He enjoys reading books on history, art, and metaphysics. When he can he likes to camp (Eagle Scout), fish, bike, and run.
