Professional Preparation

Alverno College, Milwaukee, WI, B.S. Elementary Education, May 1974

Experience

I began my teaching career at St. Anthony of Padua in Milwaukee, WI as an elementary teacher. After six years as a classroom teacher, I took time off to begin my family. As my children began their elementary careers, I too went back to school, this time as a librarian. Moving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1991 gave me the opportunity to be the Library Director at Vincentian Academy-Duquesne University for the next 11 years. In 2002 I moved back to the Midwest and was hired as the library aide at Bednarcik Junior High. I moved to Oswego East as a library aide when it opened in 2004.

Family Life

My husband David is a manager at International Truck & Engine. Together we have four children. Jeremiah and his wife Jen live in New Hampshire and work at Raytheon as computer programmers. Lisa and her husband Kyle live in Japan. Kyle teaches high school social studies on a naval base while Lisa is working on her Master`s in Education. Heather is a grad student at the University of Wisconsin Madison working on her Master`s in bio-statistics. Colin is a junior at OHS. He`s looking forward to his junior summer when he will begin looking at colleges to study computer engineering.

Activities

In our spare time David and I enjoy traveling to visit our children and friends scattered around the U.S. I enjoy following Colin in his many activities which include band, volleyball and soccer. I am also a HUGE Packers and Steelers fan! During the summer I enjoy gardening and swimming. And of course, reading is on my list of favorite activities all year long!
