Experience
While going to SIU-C, I worked summers in Ely, MN at a canoeing outfitter. It gave me a great sense of self-reliance, hard work, and an appreciation of nature. When I finally graduated, I was hired at Wheaton Warrenville South High School where I was a Special Education teacher for 7 years. I also participated in our night school program, The Academy, which was put in place for at-risk students. I was a teacher in The Academy for 5 years, and an administrator for two. I thoroughly enjoyed working with those kids and would not trade the experience for anything. During my 7 years at WWSHS, I got married, earned my Master`s degree and had a child, all of which contributed to my positive growth as a teacher. I am now at Oswego East High School gaining valuable experience in my first position as a Department Chair. I hope to develop into as excellent a leader as all of my peers here at OEHS.
Family Life
My husband Brian and I were married in 2001. We lived in Aurora for 3 years and then built a house in Oswego in 2005. We moved in that May, about 10 days after our daughter Caitlin was born. Moving into a new house with a newborn….now that was interesting!
Activities
Brian, Caitlin and I love to watch Bears Football, Notre Dame Football, and the Cubs!! We also love to spend time with friends, family and go on walks with our faithful dog Guinness.
