Welcome to First Grade!
Hello Lakewood Creek Coyotes! My name is Kaila Van Cott and I will be your child`s first grade teacher! I am looking forward to the upcoming school year, and having the opportunity to work with your child and see him/her grow in so many ways throughout the year! I will now tell you a little bit about myself.
I grew up in Bartlett, Illinois. In May 2006, I graduated from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). Following graduation I taught reading for one year in Bolingbrook, IL and then joined the Lakewood Creek community. Currently, I am enrolled at Olivet University in order to earn a Masters degree as a Reading Specialist. I will complete my degree in February of 2010.
I have been married to my best friend for over a year now. I live with my husband, Tim, in Wheaton, and I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy being outside and staying active! You can find me playing sports of all kinds, but my favorites include: basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis.
This is my third year teaching 1st grade at Lakewood Creek. I enjoy being a part of the Lakewood Creek community and am looking forward to beginning this wonderful journey with you and your child. By working together, your child will develop a love for learning and will strive to do the best he/she can!
