Mrs. Mary Peterson READ 180 Teacher Long Beach Elementary Room 144   Contact Information: 630-636-3340 email:  mpeterson0314@oswego308.org                           Mission Statement:   Believing everyone achieves in a community hand-in-hand.     Background Information:    I have two wonderful grown children, Andrew and Julie, and a beautiful granddaughter.  We moved to Illinois from the east coast about 18 years ago. It was hard leaving family, mountains,and the ocean,  but we love it here now!  We enjoy traveling back to the east coast each summer to visit family in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  We have our fill of lobster, clams, sun & surf, and fun family time.  We return tired but with lots of family memories.   Educational Background:    I received my B.S. in Education from the University of New Hampshire and Master of Arts in Teaching from Aurora University.  I received my reading endorsement from Aurora University and became the READ 180 reading teacher at Long Beach School in 2005.  I have taught both third and fourth grades and enjoyed being a classroom teacher.....but I just love teaching READ 180!  Students that come to me need a little extra assistance and make such progress with this engaging, motivational, fun program!  It`s exciting to be part of such an inovative, engaging, instructional program.
