About Miss Llamas:
My name is Luisana Llamas and this will be my first year teaching second grade ELL (English Language Learners) at Grande Park Elementary. However, this is my fifth year teaching ELL students! I love working with bilingual or multilingual students. English is my second language while Spanish is my native language. Experiencing the second language learning experience with my students is so interesting and fun. It is very rewarding to see students make phenomenal progress in their second language! I also love second grade and I know that your son/daughter will love it, too!
Educational Background:
B.A. in Elementary Education from Aurora University
M.S. Ed. in Literacy Education with a focus in ESL/Bilingual from Northern Illinois University
As I already have said, I have passion for teaching. I am always looking for ways to improve my instruction. Therefore, during the 2009-2010 school year I will be pursuing National Board Teacher Certification in the area of English as a New Language!
