Hello! My name is Amber Denbo. This is my fourth year teaching first grade at Fox Chase. I live in Oswego with my husband John, my dog Diesel, and a goldfish. Before coming to Fox Chase, I worked with children in a variety of settings including The Indianapolis Zoo, Jim Peck`s Wildwood Wildlife Park, The Oregon Coast Aquarium, The Indianapolis Children`s Museum, Mooseheart residential child care facility, and I was the director of a KinderCare. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point in biology and environmental education. When I realized my true passion was working with young children, I returned to school at Northern Illinois University to earn a graduate degree in Early Childhood Education.
When I am not teaching or planning, I enjoy many different activities. One of my favorite hobbies is reading. I also like doing crafts such as crocheting and sewing. I come from a very musical family and I have played the oboe for 18 years. My favorite thing to do at home is to play with my dog Diesel.
I am so glad to be a part of the Fox Chase First Grade team! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach and learn with your children everyday!
