Background:

I have had the privilege of working at Boulder Hill School for the past 13 years. I have taught first through fifth grade Title I Reading, as well as Reading Recovery for the past ten years. Prior to teaching at Boulder Hill, I began my reading career in District 203 where I spent time working with At-Risk students of all ages. Earlier in my career, I taught at the Junior High Level in the Math and Science Departments for five years. I have also been an active member in the Illinois Reading Council which I served as President.

Personal:

I am married to a wonderful man, Terry, for the past 21 years. We have two beautiful children who have had the opportunity to enjoy and be educated in District 308. As members of this community, we have enjoyed many activity-filled years with park district soccer, baseball and art classes; just to name a few. Now you will find my husband and I traveling out to DeKalb to enjoy NIU marching band. As well as heading toward Colorado where are our son will be a freshman at the University of Colorado Boulder. My passion, however above all else (excluding my family), is the BEACH. With the rolling of the waves and the moving of the chairs; life is never better.

Education:

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Urbana. I am a Reading Recovery Specialist, as well as hold two reading certificates K-12.
